Terms & Conditions

Eligibility & Account Registration
3.1 Minimum Age
You must be at least 18 years of age to register an account on GeminiEditors.com. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If we discover that an account belongs to a person under 18, we reserve the right to suspend or delete that account immediately without notice.
3.2 Registration Requirements
To use the Service as a Customer or Editor, you must create a registered account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information at registration — including a valid email address and a display name — and to keep this information up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3.3 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Passwords are stored using a one-way cryptographic hash; we cannot retrieve your password. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account or any other breach of security. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your login credentials.
3.4 One Account Per Person
Each individual may hold only one Customer account and, if applicable, one Editor account. Creating duplicate accounts or accounts intended to circumvent restrictions previously applied to another account is prohibited and may result in the suspension of all associated accounts.
User Roles & Capabilities
GeminiEditors.com operates a three-role model. Each role carries a specific set of platform capabilities:
4.1 Customer (gemini_customer)
A Customer may: submit jobs; view their own jobs; cancel their own jobs where permitted; request revisions; download their own edited files; send and read messages on their own jobs; make payments; view their own invoices and editorial reports; and access the REST API using their personal API token.
4.2 Editor (gemini_editor)
An Editor may: view and accept jobs assigned to them; upload edited files; submit editorial reports; submit revision completions; update job status on their assigned jobs; send and read messages on their assigned jobs; and access the REST API using their personal API token. Editors may not access any Customer data beyond what is strictly necessary to complete their assigned job.
4.3 Administrator
Platform administrators have full access to all jobs, user accounts, audit logs, analytics, system settings, editor profiles, automation rules, and partner key management. All administrator actions are logged in the immutable audit trail. Administrator access is restricted to authorised personnel only.
The Services We Provide

We accept documents in the following categories: blog articles, website content, academic papers, business reports, marketing copy, scripts, and research articles. Rates shown are starting rates; the exact price for each job is calculated and displayed before payment is required.
Placing an Order
6.1 Submission
To place an order, you must be a registered Customer. You submit a job by uploading your document, entering a job title, selecting a content category and service type, choosing a priority level (Low, Normal, High, or Urgent), and providing any editorial instructions, reference text, or reference links you wish your editor to have access to.
6.2 Word Count & Pricing
The price of your job is calculated automatically based on the word count of your uploaded document and the per-word rate of your chosen service type. The calculated price is displayed to you on the submission form before you proceed to payment. You are responsible for reviewing this calculation before submitting.
6.3 Job Activation
A submitted job is not active until payment has been received and confirmed. Until payment is confirmed, your job remains in Awaiting Payment status. A job does not enter the active assignment queue, and no editor is assigned, until the job reaches Paid status.
6.4 Accuracy of Brief
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the editorial brief you provide. Providing inaccurate, misleading, or materially incomplete information may result in a delivered document that does not fully meet your expectations. Where additional information is needed before work can begin, your editor may contact you via the in-platform messaging thread, placing the job in Awaiting User Response status until you reply.
6.5 Priority Levels
Priority determines where your job sits in the assignment queue. Urgent jobs are fast-tracked and flagged for immediate assignment. High jobs are elevated above Normal and Low. Priority affects queue position and expected turnaround time but does not carry a binding delivery-time guarantee unless one is separately agreed in writing.
Pricing & Payment
7.1 Transparent Per-Word Pricing
All services are priced on a per-word basis as described in Section 5. The total price for your job is shown in full before any payment is required. There are no subscription fees, hidden charges, or surcharges for standard use of the platform.
7.2 Payment Providers
Payments are processed securely through our third-party payment providers — PayPal (via the PayPal REST Orders API) and Stripe. By proceeding to payment, you also agree to the applicable terms and privacy policy of the payment provider you select. We receive payment confirmation via secure webhook notification; we do not store, process, or have access to your payment card details at any time.
7.3 Payment Confirmation
Payment is confirmed when we receive a successful webhook notification from your payment provider. Your job status is then updated from Awaiting Payment to Paid and you will receive an email confirmation. In the event of a payment failure, your job remains in Awaiting Payment status and you will be notified so you can reattempt payment.
7.4 Currency
All prices displayed on GeminiEditors.com are in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Your payment provider may charge currency conversion fees if your account is denominated in a different currency; such fees are determined by your payment provider and are not within our control.
7.5 Taxes
Prices listed do not include any applicable sales tax, value added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), or other taxes. Where required by applicable law, taxes may be added to your total at checkout. You are responsible for any tax obligations that arise in connection with the purchase of our services in your jurisdiction.
7.6 Financial Records
Payment records — including job price, payment status, and transaction references — are retained for a minimum of seven years from the date of transaction in accordance with standard accounting and legal obligations.
The Editing Process
8.1 Editor Assignment
Once a job reaches Paid status, it enters the assignment queue. An editor is selected based on their declared specialisations, performance score, current workload, and availability. Customers do not choose their editor directly. Jobs may also be claimed directly by an eligible editor from the available jobs pool visible in the editor dashboard.
8.2 The 13-Stage Pipeline
Every job progresses through a defined set of status stages that are visible in real time in your Customer dashboard. The thirteen statuses are: Uploaded, Awaiting Payment, Paid, Assigned, Awaiting Editor Review, Awaiting User Response, Editing, Writing, Quality Check, Completed, Delivered, Revision Requested, and Closed. Each transition is timestamped and logged.
8.3 Human Editorial Work
The editorial or writing work performed on your document is carried out entirely by the assigned human editor. The scope of work applied corresponds to the service type you selected. Editors are not permitted to make changes to your document that fall outside the scope of the service ordered without your prior agreement via the in-platform messaging thread.
8.4 Overdue Jobs
If a job remains in Editing status for more than 48 hours beyond expected completion without delivery, our platform’s automated monitoring system flags the job for administrative review. Where appropriate, the job may be reassigned to another available editor to ensure delivery is not unreasonably delayed. You will be notified in such circumstances.
8.5 Version History
Each file uploaded by an editor during the editing process is stored as a versioned record with a version number, editor identity, and upload timestamp. Customers may access historical versions of their document from their dashboard for as long as the job record is active.
Delivery, Quality & Editorial Reports
9.1 Quality Check Gate
Every completed job passes through a formal Quality Check stage before it is marked as Delivered. No document is released to a Customer until it has cleared this stage. The quality check confirms that the scope of the ordered service has been fully addressed and that the editorial work meets our platform standards. If a document does not pass quality check, it is returned to the editor for further work.
9.2 Editorial Reports
Every delivered job is accompanied by a formal Editorial Report prepared by the editor. The report summarises the changes made across the categories relevant to the service ordered, which may include: grammar and punctuation corrections, sentence rewrites, tone adjustments, structural changes, SEO modifications, and general editorial notes. The editorial report is delivered alongside your edited document and remains permanently accessible in your dashboard.
9.3 Delivery Notification
When a job passes quality check and is marked Delivered, you will receive an email notification to the address registered to your account. Your edited document and editorial report will simultaneously become available for download from your Customer dashboard.
9.4 Downloading Your Document
Delivered documents are available for download directly from your Customer dashboard using the one-click download button associated with each job. File downloads are logged in the audit trail as a security measure. Files remain available for download for as long as your account remains active and the job record is retained within our system.
Revision Requests
10.1 Scope of Revisions
If your delivered document does not fully reflect the scope of the service you ordered and the instructions you provided at submission, you are entitled to request a revision. A revision request must relate to the original scope of work agreed at the time of order — it is not a mechanism to request additional services, a different service type, or changes that were not described in your original brief.
10.2 How to Submit a Revision Request
Revision requests are submitted formally through your Customer dashboard on the specific job record. You must specify: (a) the section or aspect of the document that requires revision; (b) a clear explanation of the change required; and, where applicable, (c) any reference updates that support the requested change. Revision requests submitted outside the platform (e.g. by email) may not be tracked or acted upon in the same way.
10.3 Revision Process
On submission of a formal revision request, your job status changes to Revision Requested and your editor is notified through the platform. The revision is worked through the same editorial pipeline and must pass the same quality check before the revised document is redelivered. Your revision count is incremented with each formal revision submitted and is retained as part of your job record.
10.4 Reasonable Use
Revision entitlements are intended to ensure satisfaction with the service as originally ordered. We reserve the right to decline revision requests that constitute a material change to the original brief, that request a different service type, or that are submitted in bad faith. If your requirements have genuinely changed from the original brief, you may be required to place a new order.
File Uploads & Document Handling
11.1 Accepted File Types
The platform accepts documents in the following formats: DOC, DOCX, and PDF. Uploads in other formats will be rejected by the system. We recommend DOCX format where possible as it affords editors the greatest flexibility in making and tracking changes. The platform enforces a maximum file size limit per upload; if your document exceeds this limit, you will be notified at the point of upload.
11.2 Your Responsibility for Uploaded Content
You are solely responsible for the content of any document you upload to GeminiEditors.com. By uploading a document, you represent and warrant that: (a) you have the legal right to submit the document for editing; (b) the document does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property rights; (c) the document does not contain material that violates applicable law; and (d) you have obtained any consents necessary for us and your assigned editor to access and work on the content.
11.3 File Security
Uploaded files are stored in a dedicated, protected directory on our servers. Direct browser access to this directory is blocked. Files are accessible only through authenticated, role-appropriate platform functionality. All file download events are logged in the audit trail. Editors may access only the files associated with their currently assigned jobs.
11.4 Sensitive Content Advisory
We strongly advise against uploading documents that contain highly sensitive personal data — such as government identification numbers, financial account details, medical records, or private information about identifiable third parties — unless such information is strictly necessary for the editorial task and has been appropriately anonymised or redacted where possible.
11.5 File Retention
Uploaded original files and edited files are retained as part of your job record for the duration described in our Privacy Policy. Completed and closed jobs are archived after 180 days and remain accessible to platform administrators. You may request deletion of your files at any time, subject to our retention obligations.
Intellectual Property
12.1 Ownership of Your Content
You retain full ownership of all intellectual property rights in your Original Document and in the content of the Edited Document delivered to you. By submitting a document to GeminiEditors.com, you do not transfer any intellectual property rights to us or to your assigned editor. We claim no ownership over any content you submit or receive.
12.2 Licence to Process Your Document
By submitting a document to the platform, you grant GeminiEditors.com and the assigned editor a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access, read, and work on your document solely for the purpose of providing the editorial or writing service you have ordered. This licence expires upon delivery of your completed job and closure of your job record, subject to data retention obligations.
12.3 Editor-Produced Editorial Content
The editorial changes, rewrites, and written content produced by your editor as part of a completed job are delivered to you as part of the service. Upon full payment and delivery of your job, all rights in the editorial output are assigned to you. Editors may not retain, reproduce, publish, or use any portion of your document or the editorial output for any purpose other than completing your job.
12.4 Platform Intellectual Property
All intellectual property in the GeminiEditors.com platform — including its software, design, trademarks, logos, text, and functionality — belongs exclusively to GeminiEditors.com. You may not reproduce, copy, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the platform without our prior written consent.
12.5 No Use of Content for Training or Publication
We will not use your submitted or delivered documents for any purpose other than providing the service you ordered. Your content will not be used to train machine learning models, published in any form, shared with third parties beyond those described in our Privacy Policy, or used for any commercial purpose not directly related to the completion of your job.
Confidentiality
We treat all documents submitted to GeminiEditors.com as confidential. Access to your document is restricted to: (a) you as the submitting Customer; (b) the editor assigned to your job; and (c) platform administrators where operationally or legally necessary. Editors are bound by confidentiality obligations as a condition of access to the platform and may not disclose, share, reproduce, or use any content from your document for any purpose beyond completing your job.
We do not share customer documents with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy — specifically, where document content may be transmitted to a payment processor for order processing, or (where applicable) to a third-party API provider during an editor-initiated tool use, as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
Confidentiality obligations survive the closure and archiving of your job record.
Prohibited Content & Use
14.1 Prohibited Document Content
You may not submit documents that contain or promote any of the following:
- Content that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, or that constitutes or facilitates harassment, discrimination, or hate speech
- Content that infringes any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
- Content that contains sexually explicit material, material that exploits or endangers minors, or content that sexualises persons under the age of 18
- Content that promotes, incites, or facilitates violence, terrorism, or other criminal activity
- Content containing malicious code, viruses, phishing material, or any other harmful technical content
- Deliberate academic dishonesty — specifically, submitting a document for academic editing or human writing services with the intent to present it as your own original work in a context where such submission would constitute plagiarism or a violation of an institution’s academic integrity policy
14.2 Prohibited Platform Use
You may not use GeminiEditors.com to:
- Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any security feature of the platform
- Access any account, data, or system resource that you are not authorised to access
- Scrape, harvest, or otherwise extract data from the platform by automated means without our prior written consent
- Transmit unsolicited commercial messages to other users via the messaging system
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent API rate limits (currently set at a maximum of 100 requests per minute per authenticated token)
- Use your account to resell or sub-license the Service to third parties without our prior written consent
Messaging & Communications
15.1 In-Platform Messaging
Every job on GeminiEditors.com includes a dedicated messaging thread accessible to the Customer and their assigned Editor. Messaging is intended for editorial communication related to the specific job — providing additional context, asking clarifying questions, discussing revision requirements, or responding to queries from your editor.
15.2 Message Storage
All messages sent through the platform’s messaging system are stored as part of the associated job record. Message data is retained for the lifetime of the job record and is accessible to the sender, recipient, and platform administrators. You should not send sensitive personal information (such as passwords, payment card details, or identification numbers) through the messaging system.
15.3 Email Notifications
Transactional email notifications are sent to Customers when: a job is submitted; a job is assigned to an editor; a job is delivered; and a job is completed. Editors receive notifications when a job is assigned or claimed. Platform administrators receive notifications when new orders are placed. These transactional communications are essential to the operation of the Service and cannot be opted out of while you maintain an active account.
15.4 Acceptable Use of Messaging
The messaging system must not be used to harass, threaten, or abuse any editor, administrator, or other user. Messages that contain content prohibited under Section 14, or that attempt to conduct transactions outside the platform, are prohibited. We reserve the right to review messages where there is a legitimate operational or security reason to do so and to take action — including suspension of messaging access — where misuse is detected.
Cancellation & Refunds
16.1 Cancellation Before Payment
A job in Uploaded or Awaiting Payment status may be cancelled by the Customer at any time before payment is made. No charge is incurred.
16.2 Cancellation After Payment — Before Assignment
If a job is in Paid status and has not yet been assigned to an editor, you may request cancellation by contacting us at [email protected]. We will review such requests on a case-by-case basis. Where editorial work has not yet commenced, we will endeavour to process a full refund. Refund processing times are subject to the policies of your payment provider.
16.3 Cancellation After Assignment — Work In Progress
Once a job has been assigned to an editor and editorial work has begun, we are unable to guarantee a full refund. If an editor has partially completed work, we may at our discretion offer a partial credit or refund reflecting the portion of work not yet completed. All such requests are reviewed individually and decided at our reasonable discretion.
16.4 Dissatisfaction with Delivery
If you are dissatisfied with a delivered document, you should first submit a formal revision request (see Section 10) to allow your editor the opportunity to address the specific issue. Refund requests based on dissatisfaction with quality will only be considered where: (a) a revision request has been submitted and completed; and (b) the delivered document still materially fails to address the scope of the service ordered and your original brief. Refund requests based on a change of mind, a change in your requirements after submission, or dissatisfaction with aspects outside the scope of the service ordered will not be considered.
16.5 Dispute Resolution
In the event of a payment dispute raised through your payment provider (PayPal or Stripe), you agree to first contact us directly at [email protected] to seek resolution before initiating a chargeback. We will respond to all valid disputes within five business days.
Account Termination
17.1 Termination by You
You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Before your account can be deleted, all outstanding job obligations must be resolved — including completion of any jobs in progress, resolution of any outstanding payments, and download of any delivered files you wish to retain. We are not responsible for any content lost following account deletion.
17.2 Suspension or Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account, with or without notice, in any of the following circumstances:
- You have violated any provision of these Terms
- You have submitted prohibited content as described in Section 14
- You have engaged in fraudulent, abusive, or harassing behaviour toward any editor, user, or member of our team
- You have attempted to circumvent platform security measures or access controls
- Your account has been involved in a chargeback or payment dispute that we determine to be made in bad faith
- We are required to do so by applicable law or a valid legal order
17.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination of your account, your access to the platform will cease immediately. Pending and in-progress jobs may be cancelled without refund where termination is due to a breach of these Terms. Data associated with your account is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
API Access & Partner Integrations
18.1 REST API
GeminiEditors.com provides a REST API (versioned at /api/v1/ and /api/v2/) that allows authenticated users to submit jobs, list jobs, retrieve job status and details, create and retrieve messages, and perform administrative actions (admin-only). API access requires a valid bearer token generated from your account profile. Tokens have a lifetime of 90 days (7,776,000 seconds) from the date of generation, after which they must be renewed.
18.2 Rate Limits
API access is subject to a rate limit of 100 requests per minute per authenticated token by default. Exceeding this limit will result in your requests being rejected and the event being logged in the platform’s security audit log. Persistent or intentional rate-limit abuse may result in API access being revoked.
18.3 Partner API Keys
Third-party integrations may be granted access to the platform through partner API keys, issued with defined permissions scoped to the specific integration. Partner keys are managed by platform administrators and are subject to the same rate limits and security logging as standard API tokens. Partners may only use API access for the specific purpose for which their key was issued and may not share, publish, or transfer their key to any third party.
18.4 API Availability
API access is provided as a convenience feature. We do not guarantee the uninterrupted availability of the API and reserve the right to modify, deprecate, or discontinue API endpoints with reasonable notice. We are not liable for any disruption to third-party services or integrations caused by changes to the API.
Platform Availability
We aim to maintain the GeminiEditors.com platform in a fully operational state at all times. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted access and the platform may be unavailable at times due to: scheduled maintenance; unscheduled technical incidents; circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including force majeure events, internet outages, or third-party service failures); or security interventions necessary to protect the integrity of the platform.
Planned maintenance will be communicated to users where practicable. We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from unavoidable platform downtime. Where significant unplanned downtime affects a job that is actively in progress, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate with affected customers and editors and to accommodate reasonable adjustments to expected delivery timelines.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, GeminiEditors.com’s total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising under or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Service — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for the specific job to which the claim relates.
In no event shall GeminiEditors.com be liable for:
- Loss of profits, loss of revenue, or loss of anticipated savings
- Loss of business, contracts, or commercial opportunities
- Loss or corruption of data beyond the replacement cost of reproducing the data from its most recent backup
- Any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages
- Damages arising from your use or inability to use our Service
- Damages arising from the acts or omissions of any third party, including payment processors or API providers
- Damages arising from the content of your submitted document or the editorial choices made in good faith by an assigned editor within the scope of the service ordered
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that:
- The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations beyond what is described in our service descriptions
- Editorial changes made to your document will result in any specific commercial, academic, or publication outcome
- SEO editing will produce specific search ranking results, as search engine ranking is determined by factors outside our control
- The platform will be free from errors, interruptions, or security vulnerabilities at all times
- Delivered documents will be free from typographical or factual errors that originate in your original submission and fall outside the scope of the service ordered
We do warrant that our editors are vetted professionals and that the Service will be performed with reasonable skill, care, and diligence consistent with industry standards for professional editorial services.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GeminiEditors.com and its officers, directors, employees, editors, contractors, agents, and successors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, judgements, awards, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
- Your violation of any provision of these Terms
- Your submission of any document that infringes a third party’s intellectual property rights or that violates applicable law
- Any claim by a third party that arises from the content of a document you submitted to the platform
- Your fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful use of the Service
- Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right in connection with your use of the Service
Governing Law & Disputes
23.1 Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter — whether contractual, tortious, or otherwise — shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. The specific governing jurisdiction will be disclosed to users upon request and will be updated when formally established by the platform operator.
23.2 Informal Dispute Resolution
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] and attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute informally. We will respond within five business days. Many disputes can be resolved quickly and fairly without the need for formal action.
23.3 Formal Proceedings
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within 30 days of you first raising it with us, either party may pursue formal legal remedies. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive or other interim relief from a court of competent jurisdiction where necessary to prevent irreparable harm.
Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page
- Send a notification to all registered account holders via the email address associated with their account
- Where required by applicable law, obtain your renewed consent before material changes take effect
Your continued use of GeminiEditors.com after the effective date of any revised Terms constitutes your agreement to the updated Terms. If you do not agree with any change, you must stop using the Service and may request account deletion as described in Section 17.
Previous versions of these Terms are available upon request by emailing [email protected].
